Kahl Endorsed by Every Local Government Leader in 47th Assembly District

7/17/2012

(MONONA) Robb Kahl, Democratic candidate for the 47th Assembly District, has now received the endorsements of over 60 community leaders and organizations.  This total includes endorsements from the leaders of every community comprising the 47th Assembly District.

“I am proud to have the support of the leaders of all the communities which comprise the 47th Assembly District,” Kahl stated.  “These leaders are Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, Fitchburg Mayor Shawn Pfaff, Monona Mayor Bob Miller, McFarland Village President Mike Harried, Town of Dunn Chairman Ed Minihan, Town of Madison Chairman Jim Campbell, Town of Cottage Grove Chairman Kris Hampton and Town of Blooming Grove Chairman Dwight Johnson.”

These community leaders have worked with Robb Kahl.  They have seen him roll up his sleeves and go to work when he served as the four-term Mayor of Monona.  Coupled with his continuing service as chair of Monona’s Community Development Authority and his vast experience in the private sector, these leaders know Kahl has the skills and ability to step into the job of State Representative and make a positive impact for their communities from day one.

As Mayor, Kahl oversaw the award-winning Monona Drive reconstruction project, led Monona’s extensive economic redevelopment, and implemented an expansion of public services all while proposing budgets that held the line on property taxes.  Kahl also successfully worked to substantially increase Monona’s rainy day fund and improve the city’s bond rating.

“The people of the 47th District and elsewhere in Wisconsin want leaders in the Legislature who will end the petty politics and divisiveness that have stood as roadblocks to progress on every major issue,” Kahl stated.  “The Mayors, Village President and Town Chairmen who have endorsed me want change.  While these community leaders may not always agree on everything, I am honored they all agree I am the person needed to bring positive changes to the Capitol.”

Kahl is part-owner of a small business in Monona, executive director for a non-profit organization representing the common interests of management and union labor in the construction industry, and serves on various other business and community boards.

Kahl and his wife Jennifer have been married for 15 years and have four children. Both Robb and Jennifer are active members of their community, volunteering their time to coach youth sports, serve on various city and school committees, and lead fundraising efforts for civic and school causes.
