(MADISON) The Wisconsin State Journal has endorsed Robb Kahl for State Assembly in the 47th Assembly District.

“Robb Kahl was Monona’s fiscally-conservative mayor for eight years, holding the line on property taxes. Yet he understands the connection between strong public schools and a strong economy. A Democrat, Kahl would encourage UW research and business spin-offs. He pledges to push his party to find compromise on mining legislation.”

Robb Kahl served four terms as Mayor of Monona and continues to serve as Chair of Monona’s Community Development Authority. During his tenure as Mayor, he led the effort to rebuild the city’s aging infrastructure; expand and improve public services; double the size of Monona’s rainy day account; establish community sustainability efforts; increase economic development; and to improve the community’s bond rating.

The newly configured 47th Assembly District includes all of McFarland and Monona, part of the cities of Fitchburg and Madison, and all or part of the towns of Cottage Grove, Blooming Grove, Dunn and Madison.
