(Madison) The Wisconsin Grocers Association(WGA) is pleased to announce that Robb Kahl, Democratic Candidate for the 47th Assembly District he has been endorsed by the WGA for the state legislature.
“The WGA believes it is critical to have people in the legislature that have small business experience, real world experience that needs to be interjected into the legislative process,” said WGA Presdient & CEO Brandon Scholz. “Robb Kahl fits that bill,” he said.

“I am grateful to the members of Wisconsin Grocers Association for endorsing my candidacy,” Kahl stated. “Grocers operate on very tight profit margins and they are very mindful of how decisions made in the State Capitol impact their businesses. They know my experience in local government and in my own small business managing budgets provides me with the experience they need in the Assembly.”

“Grocers are involved and want legislators who share in their desire to have strong, healthy communities,” Kahl added. “They see firsthand that there are many families that have a difficult time making ends meet and know that I will be a legislator who will work hard to make sure these families have a voice in the Capitol. Whether supporting countless local charitable causes, leading the way in opening up markets for local producers, or providing employment opportunities for our youth, persons with disabilities and others who may have limited employment options – grocers are engaged in our communities. I look forward to working with grocers and other local businesses to get more people working and to keep our communities great places to live and raise a family.”

Kahl is part-owner of a small business in Monona, executive director for a non-profit organization representing the common interests of management and union labor in the construction industry, and serves on various other business and community boards.

Kahl and his wife Jennifer have been married for 15 years and have four children. Both Robb and Jennifer are active members of their community, volunteering their time to coach youth sports, serve on various city and school committees, and lead fundraising efforts for civic and school causes.

The newly configured 47th Assembly District includes all of McFarland and Monona, part of the cities of Fitchburg and Madison, and all or part of the towns of Cottage Grove, Blooming Grove, Dunn and Madison.

The Wisconsin Grocers Association is a statewide trade association who members are independent grocers, grocery chains, wholesale suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, product suppliers and allied businesses that support the grocery industry.
